my website: gladyscarrillo.com
Finally found a website to help me thread my industrial sewing machine properly. I was on the right track, just had to change a few things. They are so different from home machines. I’m excited I finally get to use it. It’s so much faster!
The website is Advance Sewing, they also have a twitter account. They’ve been super nice when I tweet questions.
It’s winter in Chicago- a wee bit cold lately. But I am dreaming of wearing my summer dresses, and excited to make more. And I think I am going to shop for some fabrics so I am ready when the weather permits. :)
Because, you know- I need more fabric.
I really don’t need fabric though, I recently went to the store and brought a few wools for winter skirts/ dresses. And I have some fabrics I bought last year, I have to stay out of the fabric stores. It’s addictive buying them. I especially like going to the remnants pile at Vogue, so many good deals!
Fabrics I bought today, mostly wools. Hoping for dresses and or skirts! I may even use the plaid pink for the couture class I have yet to begin.
I had a silly dream that I was in Project Runway- I got into trouble because I was making a dress for a friend and was embroidering messages on the inside on the lining of the dress. I remember it being snatched from my hands and distinctively seeing the black thread run off my fingers. (the lining was beige)
Later in my dream I was exploring the closets of accessories, and clothing they had for us. But for some reason everything was on the floor…
I don’t even watch this show!
Ok- I saw a rerun once, but that’s it.
I like raiding remnants pile at fabric stores- specifically Vogue fabrics. I went today and found some nice stuff- my favorites were the gorgeous gray suiting fabrics I found…one has pinstripes! Now to decide what to make.
A woman went to my workplace today and was wearing a really awesome tee with a uni brow smiley face- it read Viva Frida!. That got me looking for Frida fabric in between quiet time. I found these beauties…will probably buy some in the future for a blouse or dress!
A few months ago Craftsy had a sale on their classes so I signed up for three sewing classes. One of those is Susan Khalje’s couture dress, finally decided to start with this class! I have been browsing online fabric shops and came across a gorgerous turquoise linen cotton blend, and most likely a chartreuse lining. I have not bought it yet because I wanted to browse the stores, but I am smitten with the turquoise! I’m excited, as I am not very familiar with couture techniques.
I had a dream I finally figured out how to thread my industrial sewing machine, and I was happily sewing with it. The machine was going so fast, the fabric was flying out the feed dogs!
Makes me wonder how long it’s going to take to figure that thing out. Yesterday, I tried something else and it didn’t work.
